Getting to Star Barn B&B is Easy...
(We strongly encourage you to follow these directions and not your GPS, Mapquest, Google or Yahoo maps - the roads they would have you follow are little more than snowmobile/ATV trails and are often closed in the Winter.)
From the South
I95 to Exit 75. Then take Route 4 North through Auburn, Turner, Livermore, Livermore Falls, Jay, Wilton, and Farmington, past Strong and Avon and Phillips. About 7 miles past Phillips (home of Edmunds Grocery, Sunoco Gas and Ron's Gas Station) you will come to Madrid (note the sign: "The Best in Maine"). After the speed limit changes to 40 MPH then 30 MPH, turn right at the gray-green building with the sign "Land for Sale" onto Reeds Mill Road. Cross the one lane bridge and go 4.5 miles to a big white house on the left. Follow the driveway beyond the house and you are now at your home away from home.
From the East
From Sugarloaf and points east, go to Kingfield and take Route 142 West through Salem and into Phillips. Where Rte 142 intersects with Route 4, turn right onto Route 4. After about 7 miles on Route 4 you will come to Madrid (note the sign: "The Best in Maine"). After the speed limit changes to 40 MPH then 30 MPH, turn right at the gray-green building with the sign "Land for Sale" onto Reeds Mill Road. Cross the one lane bridge and go 4.5 miles to a big white house on the left. Follow the driveway beyond the house and you are now at your home away from home.
From the North and West
From Northern New Hampshire, take Route 16 to Rangeley. Route 16 joins with Route 4, stay on Route 4 South. About 15 miles south of Rangeley (enjoy the scenic views and pass the entrance to the Appalachian Trail), will be Madrid (note the sign: "The Best in Maine"). After the speed limit changes to 40 MPH then 30 MPH, turn left at the gray-green building with the sign "Land for Sale" onto Reeds Mill Road. Cross the one lane bridge and go 4.5 miles to a big white house on the left. Follow the driveway beyond the house and you are now at your home away from home.
From the South and West
From Southern New Hampshire, take Route 2 through Bethel, Rumford and Mexico to Dixfield. In Dixfield, turn left onto Route 142. Follow Route 142 through Weld and on up to Route 4. At the stop sign for Route 4, turn left. After about 7 miles on Route 4 you will come to Madrid (note the sign: "The Best in Maine"). After the speed limit changes to 40 MPH then 30 MPH, turn right at the gray-green building with the sign "Land for Sale" onto Reeds Mill Road. Cross the one lane bridge and go 4.5 miles to a big white house on the left. Follow the driveway beyond the house and you are now at your home away from home.
