From Ginni and David... March 4, 2007

Have you looked at the picture of the B&B on the Exciting Plans page? The roof is on and the fireplace chimney is completed. As soon as the temps rise to 40 and stay there, the shingles will go on the roof. As for the inside, all the rooms are framed. The sprinkler system is in. The electric is roughed in. Doors have been delivered along with the bath/shower combinations. Windows and gas stoves are ordered. Ginni’s been having a wonderful time acquiring antique furniture and other items to fill up the B&B. Yup, things are moving right along, despite less than perfect weather.

Speaking of weather, with the 2+ feet of snow we got on Valentines Day and the additional 10” on March 2, the snowmobile trails are perfect! They were out in full force yesterday, and even a few ventured out for a midnight run.

It’s also time for Maple Syrup! The trees are tapped and with the warmer temps this weekend, The Sugar Shack might have begunb boiling. Can’t wait for Maple Sunday on March 25th! It’s a great opportunity to taste the freshest and finest maple syrup you’ll every have as well as buy your supply for the year. The Sugar Shack is right at the edge of our property, conveniently located next to Star Barn Guest House (and soon B&B!).

And even with all the snow on the ground, the birds tell of spring’s coming. Some of our migratory feathered friends have returned and have already begun their spring songs. Plus, we’ve had the pleasure of hosting a pair of Cardinals (Mr. and Mrs.) for the last month. With any luck they’ll nest here and become permanent residents.

Check back soon to see the progress.
